A man was shot after intervening in an argument

A section of Ontario St. was still closed to traffic after an overnight shooting put a 40-year-old man in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Montreal police say the man was shot at approximately 4 a.m. Saturday after apparently trying to intervene in an argument. He was shot and the suspect fled on foot and is being sought by police.
Ontario was still closed as of 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning, between Papineau Ave. and Cartier St. while police investigators searched for evidence.
