A fire turned fatal in Lachine Monday night

A 69-year-old man was found dead Monday night in the wake of a fire that broke out in an apartment block on Victoria St. in the borough of Lachine.
Montreal police say the man’s body was discovered by firefighters and that by the time they on the scene the fire seemed to have already burned itself out, suggesting it may have started accidentally.
Because the fire involved a loss of life, the police arson squad is investigating the incident.
