A 150-year term would be 'death sentence' for mosque gunman, defence says

Putting Alexandre Bissonnette behind bars for 150 years would be the equivalent of a “death sentence by incarceration,” say the defence lawyers representing him, and they intend to argue in court for a life sentence with no possibility of parole before 25 years.
The 28-year-old Bissonnette pleaded guilty last week to six counts of first degree murder and six of attempted murder in connection with the attack in January of 2017 on a Quebec City mosque.
