How sweet it is: Maple syrup season is here

A chilly end to winter slowed the start of maple syrup season, but the sap at area sugar shacks is running now, so get ready for pancakes.
The seventh generation syrup producers at McLachlan Family Maple Syrup and Pancake House in Komoka tapped their trees at the same time as last year, but cold day-time temperatures kept the sap from running well until last week, when the first signs of spring weather brought temperatures closer to their ideal range, -5C at night and 5C during the day.
