Worker buried in trench collapse during sewer repairs in Charleswood

One person was injured after a trench collapse in the community of Charleswood on Thursday. The Calgary Fire Department says the victim was doing sewer repairs in the 2600 block of 34 Avenue N.W. at around 10:45 a.m. when the trench they were working in buckled. There was, according to the fire department, a large volume of dirt that fell on the victim. A technical rescue team was brought in as well as an excavator. The condition of the victim isn’t known.
