Commercial vehicle driver charged, after crane catches overhead power lines

LETHBRIDGE - The driver of a commercial vehicle has been charged with Failing to Ascertain Sufficient Space for Movement, after several power poles were broken in downtown Lethbridge Monday morning. The charges fall under the Use of Highway and Rules of the Road Regulation.
A one-block area was between 3 Ave. S. and 4 Ave. S. along 8 St. S. was closed to traffic for hours, while police, firefighters and other crews attended the scene.
