CN Rail to lay off 450 employees due to pipeline protests

CN Rail is laying off roughly 450 employees due to the ongoing pipeline protests across the country, CTV News has learned. Rail blockades and other demonstrations in support of the Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs have blocked railways across the country for more than a week, halting train service to much of Canada. CN said last week that it was temporarily closing down its Eastern Canada network due to the demonstrations. More to come…
