Canmore RCMP officer found to have acted reasonably in 2023 shooting

No charges will be laid against a Canmore RCMP officer who shot and seriously injured a suspect during a confrontation at a police checkpoint more than a year ago. The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) was called to investigate an officer-involved shooting that took place in Canmore.   The report detailed an incident that took place shortly after 11 p.m. on the night of Feb.24, 2023, when the subject officer (SO) conducting a check stop on Rundle Drive near Three Sisters Drive,
