1 arrested, 8 traffic summons issued after downtown COVID-19 protests

Around 500 people marched down Stephen Avenue Saturday, Calgary police say, as they protested COVID-19 public health restrictions. According to police, a demonstration was held outside City Hall around 1 p.m., after which protesters walked west on Stephen Avenue to Harley Hotchkiss Gardens, then back on the same route.
