Wolfe Island finally fulfills a postwar promise
Nearly 80 years after Wolfe Island residents first proposed a permanent tribute to local veterans, the community has just now completed a cenotaph that organizers say fulfills a promise that has been pending since the end of the Second World War.Historical records show the idea of a veterans memorial was being discussed on Wolfe Island in 1946, when plans were developed for a memorial park south of Marysville.
