CSC tightens security measures after staff at Collins Bay Institution seize contraband, other unauthorized items

A large number of contraband and unauthorized items have been seized by staff at Collins Bay Institution, a multi-level security federal prison. According to a news release, between Nov. 23 and Dec. 2, staff were able to seize multiple packages that contained tobacco, marijuana, crystal methamphetamine, “shatter” (cannabis concentrate), as well as a cellphone. The total estimated institutional value of these seizures is approximately $153,431. As a result, the Correctional Service of
