Wildfire smoke blankets Hamilton and Niagara, prompting air quality warning and event cancellations

The Air Quality Index for parts of the region, including Hamilton, Brantford and St. Catharines, was forecast to reach a 10+, or very high risk, on Wednesday. The weather agency says air quality conditions may improve Friday morning. Some events and programs in the region have already been cancelled.
