Candidates

If a person wishes to run as a candidate in a City of Hamilton municipal election, they must file a nomination paper with the City Clerk. The first day to file a nomination paper for the next municipal general election will be May 2, 2022.Under the Municipal Elections Act, candidates cannot spend money, including their own money, on their campaign before the City Clerk receives their nomination form.Nomination papers and other candidate resources will be available in early spring 2022.
