Blue-green algae closes Hamilton's Pier 4 beach, following Christie Lake closure
Blue-green algae is forcing the closure of another beach in Hamilton. Pier 4 Park Beach is closed to the public "due to the confirmed presence of toxin-producing blue-green algae (cyanobacteria)," the City of Hamilton said in a Monday news release. The closure comes after the Hamilton Conservation Authority also closed Christie Lake Conservation Area to the public this past Friday.
