Elliot Lake to allow retail cannabis sales

Elliot Lake will allow the retail sale of cannabis in the city.
“The way I see it,” Elliot Lake Mayor Dan Marchisella said, “if the city opts out of the province’s plan, we opt out of controlled legal retail, we opt out of opportunities for new, sustainable industry, we opt out of increased jobs and increased tax revenue.
“If we opt out, we’re actually opting into the continuation of the black market within our municipality.”
