Northern Indigenous community suing Alberta government for 2023 wildfire response

A Metis community 400 kilometres northwest of Edmonton is seeking damages from the province due to their handling of the 2023 Grizzly Complex Wildfire that burned over over 180,000 hectares in the Slave Lake Forest Area. Amended court documents were filed by the community in late April.
