Killer was freed 8 days before stabbing elderly Edmonton couple

Edward Roberts was released from custody by an Edmonton judge on August 25, 2016. He was charged with assaulting his father with a pair of scissors. Eight days later he fatally stabbed Joao and Maria Nascimento with a steak knife. Roberts has pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter.
