How Edmonton protected its river valleys from freeways

In 1963, Edmonton city staff presented the Metropolitan Edmonton Transportation Study. The study called for numerous changes to the city’s transport system, proposing to carve up large portions of the river valley to make room for new freeways. What followed was a battle between the city and local residents that would shape Edmonton’s river valley. The CBC's Kevin Sabiston explores.
