Canadian government launches new anti-extortion initiative

The federal government has announced new measures to combat extortion in Canada. The measures include using the resources of the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) to share information. FINTRAC will also have dedicated liaison officers working in some regions.
