Alberta surprised by federal government’s commitment to potential Calgary Olympics: finance minister

Alberta Finance Minister Joe Ceci said the government was surprised by the federal government’s announcement Friday that it would commit up to $1.75 billion to a 2026 Winter Olympics in Calgary. He said the province is standing firm on its $700-million commitment.
