2 people charged after officer assaulted, pursuit near Wetaskiwin

Police were called to the Safeway in Wetaskiwin, Alta. on June 25 where an off-duty officer reported being punched and bitten by a woman while trying to detain a shoplifter. The two got away and a pursuit began.
