Two-year conditional sentence for stabbing in Morrisburg

A man from Morrisburg was given a conditional sentence of two years less a day for stabbing another man in Morrisburg a few years ago. Jesse Champagne was sentenced in Ontario Superior Court Friday, following a jury trial on charges of aggravated assault and uttering threats to cause bodily harm. He had pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a prohibited weapon. Judge Brian Holowka accepted a joint submission on sentencing, which means Champagne won’t return to jail while serving his
