Special Investigations Unit closes investigation into OPP officer's collision in Cornwall

MISSISSAUGA — The Ontario Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has closed its investigation into a collision involving an OPP officer at the intersection of Ninth and Pitt streets on Jan. 15. SIU director Joseph Martino released a brief report Tuesday indicating there was no reason to continue an investigation given the incident does not fall within SIU jurisdiction. This is because the person injured in the crash did not break a rib as had been initially diagnosed. The SIU’s preliminar
