Mixed reaction among Cornwall council members to strong mayor powers

Thanks to Ontario Premier Doug Ford, Cornwall’s mayor is about to get stronger. On April 9, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing announced it would be extending so-called strong mayor powers to 169 small and mid-sized municipalities in Ontario.
