Cornwall police charge man with sexual assault, assaults

A 19-year-old man from Winchester is facing three charges after police responded to an intimate-partner violence complaint on July 24. Police alleged the man struck his girlfriend in the face, choked her, then sexually assaulted her on July 23. He was taken into custody at police headquarters on Friday. The man was charged with sexual assault; assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate, or strangle; and, domestic assault. He was released from police custody to appear in Cornwall court
