Cornwall council dives into the 2026 budget

Mayor Justin Towndale spoke about the city’s 2026 budget on Tuesday before directors began presenting their department’s proposed expenditures. Discussion about the budget among city staff and councillors will happen during the special meetings scheduled this month, but no motions to amend the budget can be made yet — as per new rules associated with Cornwall’s strong mayor powers.
