Child drowns at Mille Roches Beach near Long Sault

LONG SAULT — A three-year-old child drowned on Saturday at Mille Roches Beach. SDG OPP reported early Sunday that officers had been called to the beach, located along the Long Sault Parkway, where off-duty medical professionals were attempting to resuscitate a young child with no vital signs at about 5:45 p.m. The child was taken to Cornwall hospital under police escort, but despite continued attempts at resuscitation was pronounced deceased.
