Briefs: South Stormont names new CAO

LONG SAULT — The Township of South Stormont has hired its next chief administrative officer (CAO). The township announced on Oct. 30 that council had approved hiring David Barrick as deputy CAO, effective Nov. 3. He will work in that position, with CAO Debi Lucas, until Lucas’ planned retirement on Dec. 31. Barrick will then be appointed CAO on Jan. 1.
