Update: Tens of thousands without power as wind storm hits Vancouver Island Tuesday evening

UPDATE 6:56 P.M. TUESDAY: There are over 175 reported outages just on Vancouver Island alone. Over 12,800 customers in Nanaimo have lost power in the past hour, as well as 4,400-plus customers near Langford, Colwood and Metchosin, in addition to nearly 1,835 customers in Courtenay.
