Chilliwack townhome heavily damaged by fire

CHILLIWACK — There were no injuries in a residential fire in Chilliwack Saturday (Jul. 29) afternoon.In a news release, the Chilliwack Fire Department says it was called to a townhouse in the 46000 block of Russel Road at approximately 4:15 p.m. 31 firefighters fought back flames and heavy smoke coming from the garage of a townhome.The occupants of the home were alerted to the blaze by fire detectors in the home.
