NATO tests its ability to reinforce Europe in a crisis with massive trans-Atlantic operation

An ongoing NATO exercise is dusting off the alliance's Cold War-era skills and scenarios for rapidly reinforcing Europe in a crisis. An exercise in keeping Atlantic Ocean sea lanes open and getting troops and equipment safely across the sea has been taking place off Portugal over the last two weeks.
