More people are surrendering their pets — and local animal shelters are pleading for help

A Greater Toronto Area animal shelter says it is seeking support from the community as more and more pets are being surrendered and its facility is at capacity with 131 animals. A number of local rescue organizations say dog surrenders have been on the rise post-COVID.
