Calgary lays new charges against company behind landfill on fire

The City of Calgary has laid four new charges against ECCO Recycling and Energy Corp. and its owner Alec McDougall over a landfill that has been burning for more than a week, alleging non-compliance under both the Municipal Government Act and the city’s Land Use Bylaws, according to court records obtained by CBC News.
