New B.C. laws penalizing predatory business practices now in effect

Under the new rules, companies must give customers time to cancel a subscription without penalty before it's renewed. The door-to-door sale of high-cost products has been banned, and from August 2027, B.C. residents will be able to access their credit scores for free.
