Six Nations council cost up

OHSWEKEN – It cost 10 per cent more to run Six Nations elected council last year.
According to the consolidated financial statements for Six Nations of the Grand River for the fiscal year ended March 31, elected Chief Ava Hill and 12 district councillors were paid $789,505 in honoraria, benefits and travel expenses.
That’s up $72,921 over the $716,584 the chief and councillors were paid in fiscal 2017.
For fiscal 2018, the entire council received $569,562 in total honoraria, $25,569
