City hall notebook: Brantford purchasing Powerline Road property, new date for Beats & Eats

The City of Brantford is purchasing a parcel of land at 307 Powerline Rd. between Park Road North and Wayne Gretzky Parkway.Council, at its July 28 meeting, announced that it was buying the property for $875,000.As part of the deal, the city will also pay $14,560 to cover the land transfer tax and closing costs.The city purchased the property to facilitate the widening of Powerline Road and the expansion of the Wayne Gretzky Parkway.
