Brantford gets hit with first heat wave of summer

Grand Erie Public Health has issued a heat alert with sweltering temperatures forecast to extend into the weekend.Environment Canada also issued an orange heat warning with a “long duration heat event” starting Tuesday and running through to Friday and, possibly, into Saturday. Maximum temperatures could reach 36C with little relief overnight as temperatures drop to between 21 to 23C. The hottest days are expected to be Wednesday and Thursday, with maximum temperatures of 34 to 36C
