Absentee landlords fined for apartment problems

Two North York owners of an old apartment building on Colborne Street have been fined $34,000 by the city under its property standards bylaws.The city said Brantford bylaw officers inspecting 46 Colborne St. found water leaks and damage, extensive mould, broken windows and walls and ceilings that had been patched with cardboard.“Some of these deficiencies were found within children’s bedrooms, raising serious health and safety concerns,” said a city news release.Property stand
