Woman dies after her car struck at train crossing

A female motorist died Monday morning after her SUV was struck by a freight train at a level crossing in the municipality of Saint-Télesphore.
The incident occurred about 3 a.m. on Highway 325. Provincial police think that the motorist’s speed was a factor in the accident, but are trying to determine whether the driver, who was aged in her 30s, was unable to brake in time to avoid the train, or attempted to beat the train at the crossing.
