'With joy,' Pierre Giguère becomes Liberal candidate as Boulet bows out

QUEBEC – Pierre Giguère’s days in provincial politics are not over.
After being shunted aside in favour of Julie Boulet as the Liberal candidate in the new riding Laviolette-Saint-Maurice, Giguère got the news that it will be him after all.
In a statement, the Liberal Party said Giguère, who is the MNA for Saint-Maurice, will run in the new riding because Boulet, the tourism minister, has announced plans to retire from politics.
