Two men arrested, cocaine seized in routine Longueuil traffic stop

Two men will appear in court Thursday in Longueuil to face drug-trafficking charges after a routine traffic stop hours earlier by local police yielded two kilograms of cocaine. Longueuil police said the men were arrested after they were pulled over at the corner of Curé‑Poirier and Taschereau Blvds. at about 12:20 a.m. for a highway code infraction. Police say an officer noticed a sachet of cocaine in the vehicle and placed the 29-year-old driver under arrest for simple possession.
