Opinion: Michael Pitfield's public service sets an enduring example

Speaking in the Senate Tuesday, Peter Harder, Government Representative in the Senate, paid tribute to Michael Pitfield, former clerk of the Privy Council in Ottawa and retired senator, who died in Montreal last month at age 80. Here are his remarks:
Honourable senators, I rise today to pay tribute to former senator Michael Pitfield, a public servant and senator whose service to Canada spanned decades and whose contributions endure today.
For a former public servant such as myself, Michael Pitfi
