Opinion: Making Quebec a 'have' province is a worthy goal

Quebec voters opted for a new direction when they elected the Coalition Avenir Québec into power Oct. 1. One objective of the new majority government when it takes office this week will be to end the province’s dependence on the federal equalization program. On the campaign trail, CAQ leader and premier-designate François Legault committed to this as a long-term goal.
