Mercier Bridge southbound reopens after emergency repairs

The Mercier Bridge southbound, in the direction of Châteauguay, reopened just before noon on Saturday after being closed during the morning for emergency repairs by the Quebec Ministry of Transport.
The bridge was closed just before 10 a.m. due to a breakup of the road surface, Quebec Transport Ministry spokesperson Émilie Lord said. Workers are placing a steel plate over the affected area.
