Man shot dead during police intervention in Abitibi-Ouest

A 23-year-old man was shot dead during a police intervention by the Sûreté du Québec on Sunday, in La Sarre, in the Abitibi-Ouest region.
The Independent Investigations Bureau (BEI) has taken over the investigation.
According to BEI the two SQ patrollers encountered a vehicle around 6 p.m. and decided to intercept.
The driver refused to stop and a police pursuit ensued.
During the chase, the man threw objects at the police car.
