Madeleine Meilleur withdraws as candidate for new language commissioner

QUEBEC — Madeleine Meilleur is out as a candidate for Canada’s commissioner of official languages.
Heritage Minister Mélanie Joly announced Wednesday that Meilleur, a former Ontario cabinet minister, had decided to withdraw from the nomination process.
