Laval Mayor Marc Demers diagnosed with cancer

Laval Mayor Marc Demers has been diagnosed with cancer.
He told La Presse that he will remain at the helm of the Quebec’s third largest city despite beginning treatment 10 days ago, as he feels the disease is under the control.
Demers, 67, decided to come forward with his diagnosis before rumours about his health begin to circulate.
