From the archives: Early steamships faced perils on St. Lawrence

The Canadian – this fine steamship, of the Montreal Ocean Steamship Company’s line, after discharging the portion of her cargo intended for Quebec, came on to Montreal, where she arrived on Saturday morning, and finished her discharge on Monday evening.
