Fire razes residential block in downtown Magog

A major fire destroyed a residential block in downtown Magog early Tuesday.
The blaze broke out at about 3:30 a.m. on Principale St. and the flames were fanned by high winds that swept the region overnight. Firefighters were still extinguishing the remnants of the fire four hours after it broke out.
There were no injuries reported.
The downtown area remains without power and has been blocked off to traffic. The Red Cross is on site and a temporary shelter has been erected to house those dis
