Environment Canada issues smog warning for Montreal area

A smog warning was issued by Environment Canada on Sunday evening for Montreal and the surrounding communities of Châteauguay, Longueuil and Laval.
It warned people with respiratory problems or asthma to limit physical activities.
“High concentrations of fine particulates are expected and will result in poor air quality,” Environment Canada said on its website.
It explained wood heating is the main source of fine particles that can cause smog in the winter.
